Teacher Handbook for Reading - Chinese Language Arts 2006 Grade 1
Through Edmonton Public Schools’ District-wide Focus on Reading, teachers, principals and central staff have worked together to develop curriculum-aligned grade-level reading support materials based on the Alberta Education Alberta Education Chinese Language Arts Program of Studies (2006), including this teacher handbook. These curriculum-aligned resources are intended to support teachers, students and families to enable students to become strong, engaged readers.
This Teacher Handbook is intended to support teachers:
● assess student learning relative to the reading-related outcomes of the Alberta Chinese Language Arts Program of Studies (2006).
● design targeted teaching and learning activities to help students achieve those specific learning outcomes, with a specific focus on the reading components.
