Reading Outcome Trackers for the English Language Arts Program of Studies: Grade 9

This resource contains five trackers teachers can use to record students’ growth in reading, according to the outcomes in the Alberta English Language Arts (K-9) Program of Studies (2000). The overall intended purpose is to improve student learning and provide valid and reliable information to students and parents/guardians about student progress. These outcomes are intended to be demonstrated with end-of-grade level texts. 

The Introduction to the program of studies for English language arts explains the understandings about language and literacy that are the basis for the general and specific outcomes. The outcomes in this document should be read in the context of the overall Introduction at the beginning of the program of studies and the introductions at the beginning of each general outcome.
